My R65 (82)just packed in while giving it a blast xmas eve Cant get it going again , no spark at plugs and suspect electronic ignition is the problem ?
am i along the right lines ? kill switch is ok and no obvious loose wires etc.
I have spare older points bean can can i change back to points ?

check the coils , they can be a problem especially if its wet. i belive they crack quite easily . good luck

I did suspect coils but have been told they tend to work as normal till they get hot. The bike just died with no warning and has refused to start/spark since . Have to try fitting a set of old points if thats possible and see if it sparks then . Thanks

It's almost certainly the bean can or amplifier. You could try the points to try to isolate the fault but I wouldn't change it over to points permanently.

As a rough guide flick the kill switch with the ignition on and see if there's a spark at the plugs, if there is its probably the bean can, if there isn't a spark its probably the ignition module under the tank.
