If you do a frame number search if its a genuine pd that left that left the factory already built it will have the paint code 999 ( special Paint) I have one of the UK 999 which I didn't know until I started to dig around. I have been told there was only 10 imported to UK the rest where built out of kits. Unless anybody else knows better
Is this one too rough or the wrong model?

That bike is a bit of a parts bin special - the seat looks wrong, you can still see the bracket on the muffler for the long narrow heat shield, not the G/S type fitted, and tales of PD involvement should be taken with a truck load of salt.
All you are getting is a rough G/S which hasn't run for five years with a PD tank, and you could probably buy a cleaner running bike and put a PD tank on it for at least couple of grand less, and you wont have to rectify five years neglect.

Yep that is very true, a friend of mine is selling a stock g/s in nice "well looked after" condition for £5500 and I think another £750 will buy you a mint PD tank. A well sorted "PD" for £6250 and only those in the know would Know, know what I mean![]()
Hi John any info on the nice "well looked after GS". I keep looking at these R80 GS Basics but no bugger wants to sell!!!
