Can anyone help me please:confused:

I have a single bike trailer that I wish to carry my R80GS Basic up into Norway for a few weeks.

How many tie-down straps I need, the size, best make/supplier and how best to do it?

I’d like my pride and joy to make the journey with the least damage:bounce1

Thanks Stephen

well there's tons of ways to do it, I use 3 ratchet style straps. rated to 380kg each from costco about £10ish for packet of 5

one over the front end between the wishbone and shock absorber, compress the shocks down one over the rear end to hold it down. The last one holding the rear end in a state of tension cos when you brake the bike will want to come forwards.

Make sure when you tighten it all up you don't crush important pipes or cables

there's no magic to it...

couple of ratchet straps, one each side from lower triple clamp to the tie points on trailer + tie the rear wheel to the channel it's sitting in.

get the front straps tensioned so about 2/3 of the suspension travel is taken up.

that would do the job fine, but if you were cautious you could double up on the front end straps by taking a light strap from the tie points to the handlebars.
