Location
London
1984 registered ( I have just applied for “historic” status)

BMW R80ST . Original matching frame and engine numbers ( BMW stopped doing this from 1985 I believe)
Special…see below why I call it special.

R100GS paralever front forks ( better quality than the earlier g/s forks, )
R100GS paralever top and bottom yokes ( again better than the earlier bikes)
R100GS front wheel ( to fit with the forks etc)
R1150GS four piston front brake, with braided stainless steel brake line. ( it actually stops well!)

R80g/s headlight nacelle fitted with Acewell CA85 electronic speedometer ( multi function, and a good British company)
Warning lights are Katdash LED , so won’t need to change bulbs.

Petrol tank is R100R, 24 litres, so more range.
R80g/s single seat and rack, or dual seat with rear rack that can be fitted.

Siebenrock SG2 stainless steel full exhaust system.
Migsel stainless sidestand.
Q-tech lowered riders footpegs, and wonderlich gear lever.
Clutch replaced last year, new timing chain fitted.
Spotlights, and LED running light through a Healtech thunderbox electric controller, switched live, so they cannot be left on.
Oxford heated grips ( also through switched live).
Stainless steel siebenrock engine bars.
Seperate choke levers on carbs.
Shock factory m-shock rear shock absorber
Front forks have hyperpro progressive springs fitted.
New wiring loom, as original 40 year old loom was starting to break down.
Thunderchild diode board.
Wedgetail electronic ignition.
Barkbusters handguards

I have owned this bike for ten years, and done the upgrades over time. Bike runs beautifully, and is a one-off.
ST as a base for what a r80g/s could be modified to be , but then it’d ruin the value of a standard g/s.

Bike will not come with leather bag on rear offside, or the sat nav mount.

Full cleared funds required if you want to test ride ( plus proof of insurance, driving licence etc)

Price £5250 ovno.

Edited to add price ::: £5250

Update….
Forgot to mention; starter motor changed to nippon denso starter when the original Bosch one started to give problems….
Once changed, bike was far easier to start!….strange that!

Bosch starter can go with the bike…. Useful as a paper weight, but not much else unless it’s rebuilt!

You’ve spent a fortune surprised it’s not sold…. if it was a G/S they would be queueing at your door..

Yes, I realise that as a ST instead of a g/s , it’s worth less, but most wouldn’t do to a g/s what I’ve done to this as it would devalue it.
I’m surprised it’s still here. A yank guy did want it, but was unable to get insurance in London with a USA licence.
Had a few enquiries, and hope she finds a good home, soonish.

Oh, it’s now registered as “Historic” on the dvla …. Got the VEL tax back too….and didn’t take too long.

I’ve got several old g/s i’ve modified a couple of them.. but kept the original parts to put back to standard.. I think it’s the only way to go… good luck, it’s a bargain for someone.. those of us that spend money on these upgrades know the difference it makes..👍

Now on sale at £4750 o no….
