R850gs rack- too small for top box?

Hi, the little rack on my 2000 r850gs looks too small for a top box, is there an adapter for it or do I have to replace it in order to fit a top box?

Mines just got a givi universal rack bolted to it. Grab handle removed to let the plate sit closer to the pillion pad. I’ve used it like this since 09.
Looked it up, I used the E251 plate.

That how I ran for a while on one of my 11s with the same rack... Giving did a kit with a steel strengthening plate for these GSs but you're likely only going to fine these 2nd hand now... If you just use the adaptor on it own don't overload the top box as the rack have a habit of fracturing...

I've got the e251 plate on mine but just turn the pillion handle round as something extra to strap to when loading a roll bag to the rack and plate; i never use the top box.
