Rallye Sport - Regular or Sport suspension?

So - when is delivery ? And please let us all know your verdict !

I'll have it by this time next week, so will report back. Anyone that has sport suspension that I've spoken to really raves about it.:beerjug:

also looking forward to your review nutty, I have this bike on my shortlist for next year

According to the latest Ride issue, the optional Sports suspension is not recommended for regular road use as BMW comment the it causes a reduction in "comfort and directional stability on the road"

That's bollocks! 150 miles on B roads & smaller today, and the sport suspension is bloody brilliant. Get onto a faster road, turn the wick up, and the suspension is fantastic. Gsa suspension in a gs chassis; what a bloody great combo.:beerjug:

Look; I even went off-road!:P:D

That is an incorrect statement by ride magazine. That particular warning is made by BMW in the manual however it refers to riding the bike on the road in full Enduro mode as it will affect stability and excess dive at speed not Sport suspension. I RTFM'ed

The sport suspension is 20mm higher. It's meant to be firmer, but I'd say it's as close to gsa suspension on a gs as you can get.

Agreed re the weather; I'd never get a new bike in September again, unless the deal was never to be repeated.

I am not being clever Nutty but how is that bike different to your GSA?
They are the same bike but with a few fashion tweaks.

kin ell , that throws a spanner in the works !

So Sports suspension is not recommend for the road ? FFS

I don't have the sport suspension option on mine. I opted for the 2nd gen dynamic esa and it's brill, faultless really.
No matter what you spec its gonna be great.

A load of bollucks.......it's a GS with Adv suspension, Adventures are pretty useful on road, the more stiffly sprung suspension and self levelling esa offer a great ride and squat and dive are less apparent than usual, my take is it's a package that is better than the sum of its parts might suggest.
When scanning magazine articles I have found it useful to read between the lines ;)
