Random Guzzi Shit

The more I see of the 750's the more I like them, but........they are IMO still physically a bit too small (maybe the thin seat that makes them seem so?) and, somehow, them cylinders are out of proportion to the rest of the bike?

Andres

I just like them, I think they look pretty damn good! :beerjug:

mate of mine bought a Le Mans 1 when he was 17 - still got it in his garage 35 years on.
Was his everyday ride for the first 10 years.
Shame its not been touched for a long time but at least he's still got it:bow

I had a Le Mans when I was 18, a mk1 series 2, I sold it when I was 22 to a friend and had the pleasure of riding it every now and then until he sold it about ten years ago after telling me he was selling it, i thought he was joking and was rather upset when I realised he wasn't and it had gone.... Anyway I've been hankering after another since then.....

Couple of pics of my wife's T4. It has been like this for around 20 years, before the cafe racer fad returned. She never set out to create a look. She disliked the fairing so binned it, didn't like the side panels so binned them, didnt like the seat, binned it so her brother made a base which she built the seat on and covered. A friend of hers used to work at Motorworks when they dealt with Guzzi so it got straight through pipes which someone didn't want, reloomed with an 850 Lemans loom and a low mileage gearbox.

Both Guzzi's are hers, on this occasion we had ridden from Edinburgh way to the new Forest and I used the newer one.

You'll be sorry, if you do, eventually.

i don't use them. the convert hasn't turned a wheel in over two years and the le mans not since last year. i can't help thinking of the space it would create in my garage. not only the bikes, but the boxes of spares.

daft, i know.

Ooh spares, what have you got?

some le mans bits and bobs, std. exhaust, kiehin standardish silencers, foot pedals, yoke set, some discs (probably warped), but more convert parts: an engine, 2 gearboxes, set of carbs, radiator, cuddly toy etc.

but nothing will go unless/until the bikes are gone. been down that road before :D

i've lost my guzzi mojo - thinking of selling mine :(

Yep - mine has long gone now too.
Great if i had unlimited space to keep one and ride it once a year, but not anymore.
Nice to look at though.
My last one told me it was time to say enough.

If they don't get used, why not

I'm done with 30 year old classics, sold mine over 5 years ago as they weren't that satisfying to ride in comparison to more modern stuff & you can see how far bike's have moved on

Irony - now that's funny :D

;)

Andres

It is :)

I'm not ready for 2015 bikes yet, but I know I'm done with 1970's ones ;)

Stuck in the middle on a 2005 bike :)

I guess it's because I'm not keen on speed & never have been - a modern 1190R or WC is too fast for me & I am not keen on the speed rush

I prefer to bimble around between 60-80 max nowadays & so I have no need for 130bhp

Must be because I started out riding Trials as a kid & can't see the point of speed on a bike (personally:D)
