How about this?

What a great looking trail bike.

Take one modernish V7, modify extensively and you have a relatively light, simple and probably capable economical (to run at least) bike.

I reckon that with soft-frame racks incorporating an additional >5ltr fuel tank and assuming you can get at least 10ltrs in the main tank that would make a decent travel bike. I'd love to go back to Iceland on another Tim-trip with something like that.

Ridden gently in touring mode the V7 engine would probably yield ~70mpg so a 200+ mile range which would be plenty.

The swing arm is a bit chunky

But I agree it’s a lovely neat package.

Foodie

Longnor's got a coffe shop? Good to know.
Round trip to include cake at Monyash, coffee at Longnor - and maybe collect a freshly made pork pie from Bakewell on the way home...

Cobbles has been there a fair few years now....Sausage baps are fantastic.

A good little stop off; there's also a chippy across the square; and not to far from the Flashbar cafe on the Leek Buxton rd. Nice place;:beerjug:

I had a latte and a sausage and egg bap at Flash Bar yesterday....just as the snow started.

Flash Bar

As a teenager in the 1970's I lived within walking distance of Flash Bar. Back when we had PROPER 6ft snowdrifts lasting for weeks on end, none of this namby pamby sleety stuff that you get nowadays...
IIRC (and, for obvious reasons, I may not) the pub interior was completely covered - walls AND ceiling - in tartan pattern wallpaper. Stylish. There was an extensive range of beers, the challenge being to work your way down the counter, drinking one of each without falling over. Never even attempted, let alone managed.

They say you should never go back - but it sounds like I ought to add a bacon bap at Flash Bar to my Peak District foodie tour...

Seeing that V11; i had a little ride out and a brew the other week; mines the Jap crap;:D

Is that a custom made underslung silencer box on the Guzzi?

Looks a tad low to the ground but maybe not much rear suspension travel.

The pub is more food orientated these days....and opening hours are a bit iffy. The cafe/shop has new owners....they are the old landlords of the Yonderman cafe. Opened the place up with more space and brighter lighting. They are open NYD so if weather holds I may get the V50 out for a wee jaunt.

I think he said it was standard but modified; i expected it to fuckin bellow when he set off; but it was'nt bad at all; that was the first thing i noticed; no cans. Ash will or Anders will more than likely know.
