It is appropriate to say that the new models of the eagle house, recently renewed and improved, also to celebrate the centenary which will arrive on March 15th, are good, indeed very good for the production and turnover of the Piaggio group.
The new workers will enter the company for the first time in these days and will be divided into the two processing departments; that of the engine assembly and that of the assemblies where the twin cylinders of Mandello are finished in all respects, ready to leave the assembly lines and destined for the network dealers. Perhaps we are at the beginning of a magical moment for Moto Guzzi, also because the centenary will produce a sounding board, or media push for the brand which obviously will not be found unprepared for market demands.
If the year just ended for Moto Guzzi, or better still for the Piaggio group, was a positive year, the look to the future, that is to 2021, is to be considered optimistic and it is not excluded that the sales projections for the models made in Mandello are facing upwards.
There is talk of a production of about 12,000 vehicles with the logo of the eagle house. Already last year Moto Guzzi, at the beginning of the year, had hired 30 new workers for the factory, and at Easter the second wave had arrived with the temporary hiring of 18 workers who were really important for Moto Guzzi and who have the peak of production will rise to around 10 thousand vehicles. Currently in via Parodi, there are 92 permanent employees, of which 23 are employed, 24 between generic and indirect, the rest not equally divided between motor assembly and lines.
With the arrival of these new temporary employees, the production numbers are destined to fly in a moment of crisis that is gripping our country and a real confidence boost. The test track, no longer used (yellow line) has the vehicle final assembly line inside, on the right, grey roof, and the parts store, on the left, white roof.
The old "machining/tooling plant (yellow line) was destroyed more than 10 years ago, and now is nicknamed Ground Zero.
Museum (pink line).
Engine assembly plant (blue line) is close to ex-R&D (purple line) and wind tunnel (white line).
The remaining area (close to main entrance) is the canteen for employees and workers, and offices.
At the end of the 1950, Guzzi had a power of 1600 people working there...
Now as per last Infos, they are 92 employees.
They are hiring 60 seasonal workers...

Well, just spent the last 90 mins watching Craig Rodsmith and his Guzzi V9 conversion.( Thanks Ash) Absolutely brilliant (I like his style). Looks like my early morning viewing is sorted for the next few weeks.
