Ok 03 1150 twin spark
When I accelerate hard from reasonably low revs or from stop it makes a lot of rattling until the revs reach a decent level,it also really feels as if it is strugling.
I never had this kind of noise or problem with the R1100GS it could pull a figgin tram in any gear and rev, whereas this 1150 seems to need to be at least above 3k rpm to get decent a launch any thoughts ?
Also came back from service and now seems to idle at about 1500 rpm is this right ? can I adjust it back ? (Easily)

SOUNDS LIKE GOOD OLD PINKING, OR PRE-IGNITION TO ME .

is it since the service ? if so - tell em you're not happy.

if its before the service - tell em they should a sorted it out

how much were you fleeced for ?

fleeced

hmm was about 200 euro for the 6k service, pinking sunds right to me, would that mean it was not balanced etc properly ?

That rattle...

Are you aware of the recall for all the twin spark boxers, I think they reroute the wiring for the second spark plug differently cos it might chafe on the frame somewhere and cause a backfire.

Mind you a backfire is different to a rattle, so just ignore me.

Sounds like timing or Motronic problem. Did the dealer not test-ride it before letting it out after service? Take it back and 'express you displeasure'!!

Recall

yup they did that one for me alright when getting replacement fuel cap, normally they are very good on service, but it may have been a bad day especially as one of the service guys managed to drop a new LT ! with the owner coming later that morning to collect it ! amazingly little damage just seemed to roll onto its side and rock side to side for a bit.

Take it sraight back....

Don't mess about worrying what wrong with your beast, if it was alright before the service then the Dealer MUST sort the problem out and PRONTO...like immediately you arrive and tell him/her whats happening.

The bikes under warranty and if they've cocked up and something goes bang big time they may try and wriggle out of any responsibility for said trouble and try to blame you for 'fiddling' with the bike.

The idle speed should not be as high as you state and it sounds as though your bikes been got at by someone with little experience (newbie etc).

The Recall Action is to re-route the Lambda sensor wire because in some instances an induced misfire has occurred.

If your bike was not road tested....did you note the mileage before service and after....then that is inexcuseable, find another dealer.
