Hello,

Does anyone know of a cheaper fix than buying a new one to stop the butterfly rattling in the throttle body? I've already thought of the ear plug option! What chance success with a second hand one?

Thanks,
Andrew

The real fix is to sent the item off to scriminger engineering for an overhaul and re-bush, cost was around £50 per side last year.

Re-bushing as suggested or a Ticker Killer (do a search to get more info). The Ticker Killer really only hides the problem, but if the bike is otherwise running fine its easy to fit and does reduce the noise.
However, they are still about £40-ish and if you are mechanically minded, the £60 set on offer by motorhome seems like a good price.

I wouldn't use second hand earplugs mate, quite unhygienic and might not fit

Pikey dave is selling an absolutely brand spanking new pair, with brand new TPS fitted and ready to go, £200. PM him.

Another recommendation for Scriminger Engineering. They are re-furbished to better than new standard.

Cost me £150 + VAT on a ride in/out basis last year......£50 per side + £50 fitting.

Likewise.
Just had mine done (although I sent mine to him) - now £65 / side.
Excellent job.

I used $5 ball bearings SMR138XZZ in the seal recess, as in these links.
