Just refitted the back wheel with new tyre (2003 1150GS).

Measured the ABS Sensor gap - about 0.9mm; the book says between 0.45 -0.55mm. I didn't measure it beforehand, but how can it have changed (or was it that all the time)?

Not ridden it yet so it may not be a problem, BUT I cannot see how to decrease the gap as there are no shims in the sensor to remove.

Should I worry?

Use it first and see if there's any change - if not stop worrying.

The shims are inbetween the sensor and the bevel casing . Unscrew the securing bolt, wiggle the sensor out just a litle way, and the shims slide off from the side of the sensor.

Thanks

Thanks for that - a post in Technical is as good as PMing you - do you ever sleep?

I presume it'll be OK but it's funny that there are no shims to start with - adding shims will only increase the gap!

As you said - if it's OK, it's OK.
