Rear Break Pad wear

Mibbies sound daft - - are you 100% sure that your not gently catching the rear brake lever with your foot ?

I got through one set in 30,000 miles on my 2019 1250GS and one set in 3,500 miles on my 2024 1250RT. Same type of riding. Have BMW changed the pad compound, or the linking bias?

When the r1200gs lc first came out they were destroying rear pads at an alarming rate , by the first service the ones on my 2014 r1200gsa were half worn .

They changed the rear pad compound and I believe there was an ecu update to alter pressure on the rear linked braking ststem which cured the issue.

First pads lasted 1000 miles , same with the second set , next replacements lasted until 13,000 miles

The calipers are badged BMW,are they Brembo or Hayes ?

On a 1300 they’re Brembo, it’s printed on the inside of the caliper
