Hi all.

I've just ordered the seals for the rear brembo on my gs, and motobins tell me that BM don't supply them with pistons for the caliper.. buy a caliper, they say.

Surely someone must make aftermarket s/s pistons, or non oem pistons for the caliper....?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Si

Si,
When you do the stripdown, measure up the size of the pistons, and give Phil or Spike a call at Cambridge Motorcycles (01223 360176, or 01223 560176) and they should be able to help you out

Cheers
Neil

I thought it was the other way round and that you cannot buy the seals alone :nenau

Thanks Neil.
No Stewart, motobins say BMW dont give them the pistons seperately for the rear..
How daft is that?

I have an assortment of pistons in my box of bits, can you give me the diameter of the ones you need ?

How will ally hold up against fluid?
I'm tempted, as I have a lathe, and some ally bar.

won't hold up too well against salt, i'd have thought.

brembo pistons used to be hard chromed steel, later they seemed to use some kind of ali, but it was teflon coated.

Just in from the garage, all of the spare pistons I have are fronts :blast
Just how bad are yours?

Thanks for looking Stewart.
It's really only that one, that has a couple of "dents" in the side, I guess someone was over exuberant with some pliers.
Seeings as I intend fitting new seals, I wanted to avoid them getting messed up by a dodgy cyl.
