rear disk conversion

The catch is directly there..

Just picked up a decent 1100 gs rear wheel with good tyre and disc for £135 including postage so I'm up to £205. I now need the wheel relacing with an offset, a spacer and to mount the master cylinder. All seems very easy and surprisingly hassle free. I'm waiting for the catch.

In the lacing. You'll see...

I saw a picture of a cross spoke wheel built with quite a lot of offset - it had a real bend in the spokes which looked a bit :eek to me...

I've built a GS rear wheel once

Thats helpfull :nenau

In my youth I raced bicycles, later I coached. I built dozens of bicycle wheels, got to a stage when I could lace and true a wheel in about an hour. Later I built motocross wheels for friends.
So I'm not a wheel building complete novice, right? The Beemer crossed pattern humbled me to submission - after hours and hours of trying to figure out the behaviour of it, being in contact with guys around the world who had experience with these wheels etc,I decided to attack it completely differently.
I measured all the spokes to be sure they are exactly the same length, and instead of trying to true the wheel through the rim behaviour I counted turns on the nipples, and it worked. I got a wheel within BMW spec.

This wheel got ruined as the hub fractured. I couldnt get a used hub anywhere so bought a complete wheel (used). The wheel I've built had a black anodized rim so I bought a set of SS spokes thinking I'll replace the rim in the newer wheel with my balck one but as all arrived I left it as it is - couldnt bring myself to dismantle a good wheel that I might not succeed in rebuilding...

I saw some wheels that were built with regular rims, I don't know where the spokes are from, maybe custom made? This could be a solution, and also can be converted to tubeless by sealing the spoke holes.

I've asked Phreaky Phil about the hub, Top bloke and very helpful, he shipped the hub to the states and had the spoke angle as it leaves the hub modified and a 100 rim fitted instead of the 1100 one.

Richie moore mentioned changing the spoke angles on his hubs so I guess the next contacted needs to be to Richie to see what he thinks about a 20mm off set to the 1100 hub.

Does anybody know the length of an 1150 swinging arm? The 1100 one is 75mm longer than the Paralever's but has an off set that would keep the wheel centred without any spoke adjustment. I think the 1150 swinging arm is shorter than the 1100's but I don't know by how much.
