Rear end collision - Help needed

Even when you have no fault in a claim, you MUST in future declare that you were involved in an accident and i'd be interested if anyone can guarantee that this doesn't load the premium ?
Be very suspicious about stress fractures in your rear swingarm cos you'll be fckd if it fractures. They DO fracture, but there's usually allegations of previous rear end collisions.

Friend of mine had his badly damaged 1200GSA repaired by a BMW dealer (when he really wanted it written off) and when he wanted to trade it in a year or so later that same dealer offered him a terrible trade in because it had been accident damaged. So beware of their 'good as new promises'.

Good luck with the insurance as has my bike stolen 3 years ago and still paying the price for the pleasure

Wanted to say thank you

Dear All
Big thanks to the forum for all the advice and especially those who PM’d me. :clap

This week Lind @ Welwyn returned the bike fully repaired. They were excellent and no fuss and worked with my insurance. Got work agreed and done and no fuss. BMW mothership parts supply was main issue. The top and left side case took the brunt of damage along with the Akro. Everything replaced as well as new sub frame. It’s been on the jig and its straight and aligned. Shaft drive is OK. Lind even fitted my Road loc (FOC).

Have a good mate who is a mechanic. He stripped it yesterday and also had it on his jig and checked it over. Even rode it for me. All Ok. Over the top but had trust issues with my toys as a kid. Just glad to have the bike back.

Sadly, I not able to ride till end of March as need OK from Consultant Neuro:clap. I know already permanent injury to back means won’t be able to put it on a centre stand anymore. Picking my 2-year-old up is bad enough never mind the bike. Too much pain in my back. Centre Stand is coming off at the weekend.

Have a booked myself on bike training course in early April. Have become a very nervous and a bad passenger post-accident and driving confidence shot. Will use it to knock cobwebs off and gain confidence and ride like hell over the summer.

Big plug for White & Dalton Solicitors. Well known on this forum. They have been excellent. Already have other party insurers letter admitting liability for NCB.

Just arguing over the money now for kit etc. Reckon that will just be in time for the rumoured 2018 GSA revamp.
Thanks to everyone for the help & advice.
Safe riding
Mike

Back on road again

Just been given some great news! Told back healed enough to ride bike. Centre stand is coming off though. Keeping till sell

Thanks again for all the help and will close thread.

Off now to get out on the bike. First Winter in six year not ridden. Anyhow out from the bloody keyboard and get enough miles before my visit to Geoff in April.
Mike
