i recently purchased a 2011 rt with 30,000 on the clock, i wanted a bigger bike for more comfortable touring, i previously rode a f700gs, my question is, when accelerating 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th the rear end 'kicks out' a bit, is this normal also under braking and down the gears the bikes rear end kicks again, is this normal, im asking as i remember having a vespa where theswingarm bushing was failing and the results were similar, or is it just me going from chain driven to shaft driven? ive put the bike on center stand and there is virtually no movement in rear wheel.

I've had two RT's and never experienced the rear wobble that you describe. Sounds like you should get it properly checked out.

I've had 3 rts and can't say I experienced anything like it. Is it always to one side? Is it on any surface? What's the tyre like? Tell us more. JJH

You might want to investigate the condition of the rear shock.

Look at the bearings that hold the diff onto the driveshaft housing (pivot bearing) any play there would cause problems.
