Rear Foglight on a gsa

On my way to work this morning about 8am in the pissing rain a woman lept off the path with her poxy bushbike.
I was at 30mph and no more than 20 feet from her. I had full high viz, head light on and front spot lights on.
She didnt see me! if id not slammed the brakes on she would certainly have felt me.
THink no matter what you do there will always be a twat to contend with.

You need a loud pipe though with the iPhone generation (and earphones) that's unlikely to be much help.

I think that the more lights a bike has the safer it is providing they are not aimed so they dazzle oncoming traffic. However, cars with front or rear fog lights being used unless they're in dense fog makes my piss boil. It's almost as if the drivers are saying 'Look at me' and I have no problem with those who do this being fined for doing so.

Whilst both the reflective strips and lights fitted to the panniers are an obvious help to rearward visibility, I only ride with the panniers fitted when I need them.

I think extra rear lights is a great idea, lots of extra fronts but rear normally left as standard.
I fitted 2 extra Stop/Tails to my GSA soon after getting it.
Simple alluminium brackets glued to the pannies with number plate foam strips, 2 Waterproof connectors close to the side of the seat and a relay setup to drive them.
Relay probably not necessary as voltage is so low.
Picture attached shows the lights and the extra reflectors on the number plate and the top box

If you mean the little black rectangles with a silver screw in the centre. They are pressure release valves, which were fitted on the newer boxes.

Done this with my last two, handy especially in Belgium where tailgating is a national sport.............it does make a difference

If the fog is thin enough to see other vehicle tail lights your own tail light will be visible and you don't need a fog light.

If you fit a high intensity light the chances are you'll use it when it's not needed inviting a rear ender because people can't see your brake light.

As others have said regardless of the bike being lit up like an Xmas tree - people have to look down the road. With so many on Facebook/Twitter and driving by sat nav instruction, no amount of lights will have much effect.

I'm seeing more and more cars lately which when going round a left hander the front left fog light comes on, going round a right hander the right front fog light comes on, I've even seen cars going round roundabouts where it will go from left to right then back to left again, Wtf is that all about.

Ask them at the next set of lights if they have a broken wire on their fogs.

You're right and it wasn't specifically named as fog lights but lights below a certain height.
Now we get DRLs well below that height on all the time!

That was the point I was making, headlights are so much better now than they were years ago but someone now decides we need a fog light to come on when going round a corner, ffs
