Hi folks

My rear pivot bearings are getting towards the end of there
life i.e there shagged. last time i got a garage to do then and it was £150
quid. So this time i want to try and do them. Are they easiey enough to fit or do you need some special tool? :D

Hi mate
I've just done them, look at my thread on UJs alignment http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69349.
It's easy but you need to be careful with a couple of things.
First of all you can use this as a reference:

You'll need a torque wrench to do the LH locknut (160 Nm) and the right pivot.
Don't think you'll need to heat up as the bearings have been done already so the heat-sensitive threadlock has probably been replaced with normal one.
Better clean the threads very well before reassembling.
The old bearings pop out very easily using a 19 mm socket with an extension (I heated up a bit)
Remember to align the UJs at 0 degrees (better if you mark the position with a long brush before separating the splines).
Don't overtighten the left pivot, manual says 7 Nm starting when you dont feel any play

Good luck
