Hi All,

R1150GS - Do you defo need to take the rear wheel off to get the rear shock out or can it be done by just taking the silencer off?

Cheers

depends

depending on what silencer you've got, my remus sits too close to allow the lower bolt to be removed fully but you can certainly do it with the wheel on.

Got a de-cat pipe with std end can. Glad the wheel can stay on. Taking the end can off is no big deal really but the fewer things you have to do first the better. Cheers :beerjug:

Yep, the 5 minutes you'll save not undoing 4 wheel bolts and two silencer nuts you'll lose in trying to line up the lower holes when you replace the shock.

You'll spend longer picking your nose while you do the job than any time saved.
