Hi all, just got a 12 plate tripple black and have been told by the dealer the shock has been rebuilt. I cant notice any difference when switching between modes. Is there any thing I can do to check?
Ask the dealer, what leads them to believe that it has been rebuilt.Hi all, just got a 12 plate tripple black and have been told by the dealer the shock has been rebuilt. I cant notice any difference when switching between modes. Is there any thing I can do to check?
HiTurns out I cant do anything except switch between comfort, sport and normal. Cant change loading or any other settings in the suspension
There's a setting on it that increases the ride height (two small triangles and two big triangles). When you sit on the bike with the engine running, feet on the ground and switch between them you should feel the bike slowly rise and drop.
You should be able to hear the motors on the shocks operating with the ignition switched on, engine not running and switch between the comfort and sport settings but you have to listen very close to the shock to hear it (there's a delay between selecting the mode and the esa motor operating).
To be honest i never noticed a big difference between the comfort, normal and sport settings, i find even the comfort setting quite hard unless i've got luggage on the bike.![]()
Don’t do this , put it on the stand to change heights only small motors so will prematurely fail trying to lift 300kg of dead weight. You can then view the top of the shock moving standing at the side.

Is it an esa or non esa shock on the front, they should have mentioned it during sale ?Been In to bmw today and because its had an aftermarket front shock fitted the esa wont work according to the dealer.
Sounds odd to me

Depending which Nitron, they start around £450 new. It's a nitron shock that's non compatible.
Got to pick it up in a bit and find out what they are going to do with it as not what I expected
What type of esa shock do you have fitted at the back of the bike Showa Or WP (white spring)Unfortunately it wasnt much cheaper that's why I'm a bit annoyed about it. Would have been a bit different if they had told me first. As for the esa, I've not had it but if its fitted I think it should work
