First ride out of the year today and the rear shock crashed over holes. Stopped and pressed down on the seat, next to no damping at all. Back home awaiting BMW recovery to take the bike in.
Thank goodness for the warranty.
Bike’s done 23600 miles.

26k Miles is good for one shock.... mine would have been past it’s best anyway

Mine failed at 16K and you will glad of the warranty as BMW charge £1800 for a replacement.

However for those not in warranty there are a couple of companies that can repair for about £300

Wonder which company in the UK can refurb these shocks?

I have done altogether 150 000 kms by three gs's (model years 1996, 2006, and 2012) without any problems concerning shock absorbers. One of the main reasons why I have stayed with BMWs all these years is the robust shocks. Are the new wc models different in this respect?

Just wondering did any of the bikes that had a problem where equiped with a splashguard or mudslinger, just wondering if it is the crap getting in causing the problems :rob
