You not paying for the paint but for all the electronics and gadgets on the bike. Paint is an easy place to save money. Honda used to have some of the thickest layers of paint and older Hondas used to look better than Yamaha and Kawasaki of the same age but think that is also not the case anymore. It is a shame considering the price of the bike. Get it powder coated mate
That is interesting, thought ACF50 would have prevented that. Do you ride in winter? What I have seen in other images is that the black painted subframes looks to suffer more rust issues than those painted silver. Also it looks to be newer bikes compared to the first release of the LC. How do the engine casings look?
Was yours the black or silver frame?Mine was like that…I had it powder coated and it’s been fine for last couple of year and I expect it will be fine forever more. I don’t agree that it’s the cleaning …I think some of them just have shit paint and/or badly applied. I run out of swear words when I describe my disappointment at the quality and I will never buy another one.

Black
My car is 6 years old, is cleaned maybe twice a year, is always wet and dirty, but the paintwork is rust free.
Why should a bike costing this much go rusty?
