The Givi 6kg limit is just legal talk, I´ve loaded it with way more than that and a Enduristan L roll bag on top of it doing off road with no problems at all (and I check from time to time to see if it´s still tight.
Consider this: that plate if fit to take topcases from 42l to 58l according to Givi, would you buy a 58l topcase to carry 6kg if that limit was true?

Yes, you´re right of course (although I doubt the insurance went all the way up to weighting the content of the topcase) but you have to admit that (legally) limiting a 58l topcase to 6kg is beyound ridiculous
Absolute bastard to fit - instructions did say give it some force. once fitted the holes were out by a couple of mm. Tried to remove and it jammed and started damaging the plastic. had to resort to a angle grinder to remove as was concerned the BMW plastic would be damaged. Not convinced the correct part sent. Have emailed them yesterday but so far radio silence.
Obviously cannot send it back now I had to damage to remove.
Worse case scenario i can modify to offer additional support...
Did you see post number 12, not sure if it would have helped...
Be interesting to see how other people get on. My bracket seemed to be out by about 2mm.
if you look at the pic where i drawn an arrow the plastic around the hole is 10 mm thick
the picture in the instructions and on their website shows it to be around 4mm.

Could it be that the 10mm plastic is a vario mounting plate, whereas the 4mm is the normal infill panel?. Not sure which you have on your bike..?
The vario plates are substantially thicker than the normal plastic infill to carry the weight of the vario box. The standard infill is cosmetic and there as a means of connecting the grabrail to the rear subframe.
