Rear tyre question

Just got a bad puncture on my standard size rear tyre on my 2005 GS1200. Need a tyre now and have been offered by a friend a Tourance Next but in 170/60 17 which appears to be for the new WC Gs1200. Can it be fitted to my GS?

Fingers crossed it can or short trip with mates is off!

i would say that it is too wide.
if you are stuck i could get a tyre for friday.
or if you are really stuffed i will lend you the wheel and tyre out of my bike.
i am not using it this weekend.

ps.i have a brand new PR4 TRAIL in the workshop,as long as i can get a replacement for monday,you could buy that.(i have the pair)

Got a pair of part worns in the for sale section you can have the pair for £20 collected cant be bothered to post but its about a 4 hour round trip to Hull
