I followed a pal over the M62 it was pissing it down and more than "a bit murky "

At times his rear light was almost useless .
The cars lights around us were still visible

Is it possible to up-rate or add, a better more obvious rear light to a 2013 GSA ?

It's OK having a HIDs ,LEDs, etc up front , but... bugger all up yer rear

I think any flashing lights would be illegal on your bike, but if you clipped them on a rucksack or soft luggage you would be legal, but I must say some of those cycle lights are incredibly bright and may confuse more than help?

They are illegal on pedal bikes too.

Small ones on my bike, post 12 onwards, are as bright as the standard stop light and surprisingly visible for such a small unit. Loads of small bright multi LED units about that fit on or around the numberplate. Google is the way to go

..but not as shite as his products. I once fitted the LED bullets to my Tenere and they were absolutely rubbish, but you don't find that out until holes were drilled in the panels etc. When I got ticked off with him he tells me that he knowingly sells products that have suspect manufacturing quality - buy from this character at your own risk!!!

Dont know about legality but then you see loads of trucks with blue lights and these definitely are illegal. My safety comes before legality

Waterproof, and such low current draw I would have thought they won't affect the bulb sensing gizmos

EDIT....another vote against Bike Vis bullet thingies......absolutely rubbish, failed almost immediately, nasty nasty little things and a waste of money IMO.

You can get superbright LEDs that you can add or even use as replacements inside the red tailight cover, but you'd have to frig around with resistors to get the right resistance so you don't trigger the too-clever-for-its-own-good system

LED repeater lamps are self adhesive. Some have a boss on the back but it can be (carefully) cut off. Stick one on the back of each side case and run wires on the outside. No drilling so no damage to the case. Speakon connectors wire them to a suitable live circuit.

If you want central repeaters, the mudguard extender below the number plate could suit.

These are bigger & could be fitted with double sided foam tape.

Another option is BMW accessory LED indicators. These light red with the brake light but flash amber as indicators.

For lights with a normal bulb an LED conversion bulb might help. LED strips could be stuck around the reflector inside the light lens.

I should add that excessively bright tail lights are a total pain in the poo tube when it's raining. Its fine being seen, but dazzling everyone within sight is as (almost as) bad as running on main beam all the time. My rule is if I can see the other tail lights I don't need my VOSA megablast fog light.

Unfortunately all too many drivers see a bit of mist on the hills and whack on the fogs, front and back.

Had the same concern. I have a static red LED bar fitted to my Cymark rear crud catcher (so just under the num' plate) linked to driving lights - so on all the time. Doesn't blind those behind but does add confidence.

As per Fanums post above I fitted a strip of these type of waterproof leds, wired into the rear bulb connectors, not bright enough to be mistaken as extra brake lights but deffo makes it more visible. I stuck the strip to a bit of stainless above the rear light. works a treat. Also fitted the bikevis led's under the front indicators (2 each side) , but put better led's in them and blue led's for the clocks which makes them easy to see at night if you normally need reading glasses !! Result !!
Sorry for poor quality of photos taken on mob, the lights look more 'dazzly' in the photos than real life - brake not on and only side lights from front view - cant post better pics if anyone wants them , but you get the idea

Add some reflective vinyl to the bike, we are using a new product for our Black reflective chevrons, it loos like this until the light catches it........

And reflects like this when the light catches it (streetlamps, following vehicles headlamps, camera flash etc.)

Lighter colours reflect more brightly, the Chevrons are White & Red and the GSA letters are Yellow
