Just out of interest, i figured that a good way to check if the internal female thread on the final drive is shagged would be to try the other 3 good bolts in all the holes.
They all go in no bother, out no bother and more importantly no damage whatsoever to the threads.
It looks to me that i had a rogue bolt, easy stripped ( only 3mm) by a cross threaded ham-fisted attempt at insertion.......ooooeeerrrr
I'll be gettin another one tomorrow, and torque 'em all up just the way i did many times before.
