Apologies if in wrong thread, regarding the recall on the GS, to those who have had their BMW checked out, are they replacing all of the suspect parts or just the ones with a defect?

The Le Gastro section would probably be your best bet as it's one of the quieter sections on the site. As a result any new posts in there are instantly noticed

You can move this thread to the relevant section by using the forum tools in the menu bar at the top. Then there is the 38 pager in the relevant LC section dealing with this. But as Andres says. The gastro section is the best bet to get noticed. Only to be moved by a mod Or you can post it the for free section. With the panic among the LC owners it will be snapped up in no time.

They found Pasta and Chorizo had caused the problem, those damn Italians wedging it in the top of the Bavarian mothership's precisely engineered fork tops, caused a gap to enlarge

Mines getting checked on Saturday (safety) and told I'll have to come back to have the parts fitted

I Had mine checked before I went to Ireland and it was within tolerance they said that I would receive a letter to have the recall done but it was not dangerous, they said that it mainly affects bikes that have been used off road a lot !!
Not had the letter as yet but my mate has for his 2014 GS

Had the letter - dealer says that there is a waiting list for the parts so they'll check and schedule the work for later if no damage is found.
My Dutch mate went to have his checked at his Dutch dealer and the replacement parts were fitted there and then within an hour.

Should have bought mine in Holland

Mine was checked and collars fitted in same visit last week, long before letter turned up. Right hand gap was 0.15 and left hand was 0.25 as I measured them the night before. Obviously both collars were fitted.
