Picked mine up on the 1st of February, was in at lunch time and talking to Jim, nothing mentioned.

What time you get the phone call?

got phone call at approx 3.35 pm ,the bike is being collected first thing in the morning

Well re-calls are generally sorted by VIN number if something is wrong or suspected to be wrong with a paticular part etc.

Although our bikes arrived within days of each other it does not necessarily mean they are both effected.

Ironically Jim and I were talking about recalls as it appears my old bike may be subject to one for a swingarm!

By any chance is yours yellow? Think I might hvave seen you picking it up.

no thanks ,the only beard on my face is thigh high and wears a size 12 :D

Had the same call from my dealer, they picked my bike up yesterday !

hmmmm .. picked mine up new Dec '05.. clutch 'clunks' even when letting out slowly.. most noticeable in traffic when controlling the bike at slow speed... On the other hand, this may be the legendary 'agricultural' feel I sometimes read of!.... apart from that.. the bike is a topper! (and no call from a Dealer yet)

They all do that, sir. :)

They all do that and it's not really the clutch, it's some slack in the transmission I think. One of the updates to the fuel mapping made this far less severe, but it's still noticable. You get used to it though, also I find on my bike it's worst when the engine is cold.

..yeah.. its funny Mouse, I just can't help trying to avoid the clunk! letting the clutch out real slow... or just running at low revs! .. (stutter stutter..) guess its the habit of a lifetime - trying to keep gear changes smooooth and squeezing the clutch a little... ah well - thats the GS for ya!

Within the last few days BMW has put a "Technical Hold" on some new 06 1200 GS's on their way to my local dealer here in the States. The dealer isn't even allowed to start the bikes. They have not told the dealer what is possibly wrong but the bikes were described by vin number. The factory will furnish a bulletin to let the dealer know how to proceed. When that will be is anyone's guess. The clutch problem would certainly make sense, although I can't understand why BMW can't at least tell our dealer what's up since they obviously know.
