Hi.
My f650gs is nearly 1 yr old and due its first service. Bike was bought at Mills but I've heard a few mutterings on the grapevine their service department isn't quite what it should be. Are there any other dealers I should consider (or avoid) in the North East of england.
Thanks
Peter

Rainbow in Rotherham gets my vote (worth travelling to IMHO). Worth a ride out to, courtesy bike, straight talking, good service, give them a try. :thumb2

Barrie Robson is in York.
He is a bit grumpy - but has a first class mechanic in the dealership.

Could Mick Kendrick do it in Sunderland? 07828281003 give him a call he will know the best plan of attack as an ex BMW guy.

Mills or Coopers is alright if you can afford it, Micks a good mechanic, canny guy like, and in Sunderland, so a wee bit closer then Rotherham or York

I took mine to Coopers at Boldon, Sunderland 1 month ago. Service was exceptional and I don't say that lightly as I'm an Area Manager who works in the automotive industry. Ask for Paul in the Motorad service dept. They were knowledgable, courteous, efficient, good value and professional. Highly recommended.

Always had mine done at Coopers as well, technician service chap called Tony seems to know whats what :)

Paul at Coopers was great with me during the aftermath of me crashing the 1200. As your bike is still under warranty I would try to stick to dealer servicing during and shortly after that period as should you need a warranty claim full dealer servicing will look better in the eyes of BMW.

Other than Coopers you have a fair bit of traveling to do to get to an autherised dealer so remember to factor in the cost of your time and fuel to get there.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll post back and let you know how I got on.

Paul Vaughn at Newcastle Motorcycles..... Fully BMW trained used to work at M+S when they were BMW agents then at Mill BMW with Micky Kendrick, and he's a VERY nice man to boot! Failing that just take it to Coopers and don't worry about Gossip.

I can recommend either of them !

Just got the bike serviced at Coopers in Boldon.
The sales person ( who has now left) offered me a good deal a year ago to compensate me for a couple of issues I had with my bike when I picked it up.
Despite having no record of the conversation they honoured his word and did indeed give me a good deal on the service without any hassle whatsoever. They also replaced the sump on the bike as the paint had begun to blister and peel off. Once again no problem at all.
Overall I was quite impressed at the service I received ,especially from Paul Sharman.
