When someone started comparing the IAM to the National Trust member's and asking what more I could be doing, I knew the plot was gone. They lost me the moment they stabbed Mick Kinghorn in the back. I just got sick of using my time so they could earn more money, thats all its about now. All that "corporate" crap made them lose sight of what they were supposed to be about. They lost a lot of exceptional bikers, Rennie & Mick (Rennies successor) just to name a couple and a hell of a lot of good lads at grass roots level too. I'd climbed the slippery ladder as far as i could go and lost interest, although the things i was taught, by some very good people have stuck with me, and i still ride in the manner that Roadcraft suggested.
Over the years I have been a committee member, vice chair, NO, head of RTT, manning stands, giving up my weekends/evenings to do drive checks and talks for 17/18 year old young drivers and still an employee suggested I should be doing more and making charitable donations.
Well, I'm doing nothing now, I go play on my bike and that's it, I have been well and truly fucked off by them.
