Recomend me a strobe timing light.

Many years ago in a place far far away, Gus Kuhn Motors Ltd in the Clapham Road SW9 actually I bought for the princely sum of £32.50 a Boyer-Bransden Transistor Ignition (Mk 3)

Yes I've still got the box and the instructions...

Anyway the instructions say it needs timing with a strobe timing light so I got one of these...

I think it may have been called a hawk or hawker timing light and as I remember I had very little luck with it then, well its been languishing in the bottom of my tool box for getting on for 30 years and I tried it again last night as Rob Farmer no less said at this years Wee-Kend that the timing on my old R80/7 may need checking. Even picking the S.....

timing marks out with white paint, and doing it with the lights out :eek: I'm still finding it very difficult to see them with the engine running :nenau so just wondered if anyone could recommend me a good strobe timing light.
This is how the Boyer-Bransden system looks in place....

Thanks Tony, that sounds good will give you a ring next week as I'm working the next 3 days, so should be days off from Wednesday. Just got back from Plymouth as Hein Gericke have got a sale.
