Recommend me a battery please

I did, 8412 hearing aid batteries and several smartie tube's later. I tried rolo's but it was difficult as nobody really likes giving up their last one.

Compare the BMW OEM battery specs with Shorai and Ballistic.
Add in that LiFePo do not need a float charger when the bike is not in use and it starts to make sense.
It's not so much the weight reduction (2 or 3 Kg out of 250Kg is no big deal) but the LiFePo can be put elsewhere on the bike. Freeing up under seat storage space.
Anyone needing to run electrical stuff while camping "might" be better with a big bruiser Odyssey but more likely to be better with a small starter battery and a phone/laptop power pack that can live under the seat.
Everyone else can forget about plugging in the optimate and just use the bike as and when they need it.

Sent somehow.

I need to order a new battery for my 2013 GS LC (located behind the panel on the side of the bike, not under the seat), does anyone know which size that is of Odyssey? I'm lying in bed, sick as a dog, or else I'd go out and measure the old one.

Also, does it fit in without modification?

Thanks.

If you are planning to fit an Odessey brick why not spend a bit more and fit a Shorai LiFePo. No more faffing with Optimates and no sulphation damage even when left for years unused.

Happy to, if that's the better choice. I need something that will happily sit for months not being used, and still start, are they a good choice for that?

If so, what size do I need?

The LiFePo is a type of lithium battery though different from those used in power tools.
Ballistic are the top brand. They say the 8 cell is for up to 1000cc bikes but the burst current is higher than the BMW original battery. 12 cell gets into silly money.

Shorai are less costly but use the same technology. I've no idea which is the better product regardless of price.
The AmpHour capacity (AH) is much less than the equivalent lead acid, but lithiums can deliver high current to almost dead flat. Lead acid delivers less than one third of its AH before the current drops right off.
Lithium does the job with a much smaller total capacity. They can sit unused for 12 months without damage and lose just 10% charge. However it's probably best to disconnect the main earth lead so the bike clock or alarm can't gradually deplete the charge.
Never use an Optimate charger on lithium - the 20 volt wake up boost will ruin a lithium.

Got a 16h motobatt.. Its a squuze.. But a bit of wet and dry and its in
