Recommend me a Bike Lift/Ramp

bike ramp

hi,i think the best one is the Clarke cml3 from machine mart @£478 a bit dear but wider and stronger than a sealy one,i have one and it lifts my gs with ease cheers ken:thumb2

Clarke and Sealey benches look the same and have the same dimensions, clarke have rated lift capacity higher but meaningless with your average BMW weight both have plenty of spare capacity, both benches probably made in same Chinese factory so if either come up on ebay each would be a good buy.

I have the Sealey MC401, paid £200 used on ebay about 2005, best buy ever for maintenance, split R1100RT on it, Serviced R1200RT & K1200LT no problems.

.

How stable are these, as I'm tempted to get one, but was put off by a picture on here a couple of years ago of a chaps bike and ramp on their side, once they'd both fallen over?

Have had a Sealey rated at 400kg for 15+ years. Very stable. My nephew has three in his M/C workshop. He has modified front wheel lock so it clamps top and bottom of wheel rather than just the bottom. Does not wish to risk customers' expensive bikes.

I would not rely only on makers front wheel lock on heavy bike, always put them on centre stand and then clamp front wheel.

You can see all sorts of horrors on Internet from misuse of machinery, but there is no way of judging the competence of the users. I am sure we all know people who should not be trusted with a wheelbarrow:

Youll need to talk to ASH about that.
