After my SMIDSY a couple of weeks ago, I guess a bike mounted camera could be a good idea. I'm looking for something that can mount to the bike, and be left on the bike. It has to be small, HD, and record on a loop. I don't want it to record my speed though!:augie:D

Any recommendations?

Some old duffer like this sitting on your pillion seat should do the trick:

I've got one of these permanently wired on mine via an ignition operated Fuzeblock. Fit and forget until you need it. Bung in a Micro SD card big enough and it easily records all day and more in segments. Then loops and records over.

+1 for the camera. You can fit it out of sight to the bike and leave it on, you can fit another rear facing and just connect to a laptop to download any footage

SMIDSY?

Missed that, are you ok?

Thanks guys, some good recommendations there.:thumb

The Roadhawk looks very good. Does anyone know if they do a second mounting kit, so I can transfer the camera between bikes?

Yep, I'm ok. The car I was overtaking on a country road decided to overtake the car in front of him, resulting in me taking his mirror off, and having to go up the grass verge. At about 60-70mph.

Result was one broken handguard on the XR, a new pair of underpants for me, and around £1000 damage to the car. A close call.

Bear in mind the Innovv K1 has dual HD cameras, a GPS tracker and a button that you can press to save certain events. Does the Roadhawk have that? If I recall correctly the Roadhawk kit was expensive and down on spec.

I get nothing from recommending the Innovv kit, it's just I spent a long time researching this stuff.

Just stick a GoPro on your melon case, Nutty. You'll complete the true bikermate image.

Of course Giles might advise you to reconsider your riding, instead of getting an expensive camera to record the next seemingly inevitable close call or worse. But, where's the fun in that?

Nope, I don't want a helmet mounted camera.

Re the riding, I knew it would be my fault (on here ), but even the riding gods on here wouldn't have avoided this one. The fact that I managed to go up the verge, and keep it upright just proves what a truly awesome rider I am.:D

But loads of bikers stick one their heads and even point to them when outraged at some real (or imagined) affront to their hooning and bimbling, thus emphasising the camera's all seeing presence. These people know biking; follow their hands-on experience with great confidence.

Now that's funny........ But uncannily true.

Adventure film making is dead - long live litigious film making. What a ****ing shame.

You should have had a pound of butter in your fridge. According to the wise one on here, it protects you from everything.

So, who was at fault?

Overtaking an Overtaker:blast

3 abreast???:D
