Thinking of extending my home network to my garage at the bottom of the garden. I've already run the Cat5e cable (25 meters) to the garage from the house so it's now just a plug and play job hopefully. What's better or are they pretty much the same....a cheapo router or a slightly more expensive access point?

As this will be for the garage it's only a basic one that I'm after so don't need any mega speeds (although that would be nice) as I won't be gaming in there but a decent internet connection would be very useful. .

Something around the £20-£25 range is what I had in mind.

Recommendations gratefully accepted.

Cheers

An alternative is to buy a router that has a WiFi "bridge" function inbuilt. Bridging will connect one router to another, via wifi, and simply extends the signal. You log on the the second, bridged, router and it then goes back to your main router thus extending the range. Mine are about 30 meters apart and work perfectly and extend my wifi range to about 60 meters.
