Recommend me a few days routes please

I would....when are you going??

ps...apologies for blatant and continuing hijack

I'm not too sure. I'm on holiday for over a week from Thursday. Heading up to Skye and Fort William for the first 4 or 5 days and then having a day here and there towards the end of next week. Probably be up in your area next Thursday or Friday but nothing set in stone yet.

This road is so good you WILL want to do it again in the opposite direction.

Yesterday I went round Applecross up to Ullapool and back to Inverness, I wanted to avoid the A9 so on your recommendation took the road to Nairn - Granton on Spey - Ballater ect..I am never using the boring , speed camera infested ( 13 at the moment) , caravan clogged A9 again when there is such a stunning alternative route.
The whole Lecht section is fantastic and I stopped at the Lecht cafe and sat in the sun watching nutters on mountain bikes throw themselves down the hill.

Hey Nostromo.

Glad you enjoyed the ride, I think it is stunning. Your right about the A9 its a fooking nightmare.

Heading up there for a spot of lunch tomorrow after visiting folk in Blair.

On our way sooth from Skye and Fort William yesterday, we stopped in at the Moulin Hotel. I was a bit disappointed. It used to be a great spot but their prices have rocketed. £30 plus for a pint, a coffee and two macaroni cheese FFS. It didn't even come with chips. Chips were 3 quid for a wee bowl...:comfort

Lucky White Heather?

Last day of hols so we had a run up to teh Strathardle Hotel. My cousin in Blair had cancelled our wee meet but I thought it still worth the treck up for a change of scenery and a good bar lunch.

Me and Frau Ronno sauntered into the place at 13.40 to be told by a man ahent the bar that "we're no open until 5" WTF???? He then recommended the Bridge of Cally Hotel.

We went to BoC and it was good but FFS I drove 140 miles for lunch at a place I've been aboot twenty times before!

What kind of feckin inn doesn't open on a Friday for bar lunches? (I know  "The Strathardle Inn"...)
