A pair of boots, must be

  • Short/ish
  • summer use only,
  • understated - ie suitable to be worn all day 'in the office'/smart casual etc...
  • Comfy - see above
  • not too pricey!

In other words I want a pair I can wear to work along with Draggin' Jeans or the like and not need to change when I get there. It doesnt warrant me spending a fortune as I have good Daytona's, so these will be just used on a short commute etc . Might be asking too much to get all the above.......:nenau.........I've seen (and missed on eBay) some Hein Gericke jobbies, but I'd rather buy on recommendation than blindly jump in there.

TIA

I have a pair of these HG boots Vireo.

Light, waterproof, comfortable and good to ride in.

I think they are about £99 and should be available in the Newry store. I can check for you if you wish as they are only 2 minutes away from my work. Details here.

Seconded on the HG boots, although a pair of Altbergs may make a future appearance

Alt-Berg Bandog look good with a suit so long as they're kept clean. No body's whinneyd at me yet. :thumb2

Hi Vireo, have a look at a pair of boots form Hein Gericke called the TRICKY XCR. When i compared them to the pair Aiden has got, in the shop, they didnt look as bulky and clumsy, (looked like a couple of barge's on my feet) They are on page 108 of the 2008 catalogue.

Dead comfy, 1300 miles through france last year, and no signs of wear. The left boot is reinforced where you change gear.

And no, i dont work for the company.

Just buy a pair of Timberland boots and jobs done. It doen't sound like you need a technical boot in any way so why buy a motorcycle boot to wear with Jeans:nenau

'cos Motorcycle boots tend to have a steel shank in the sole to stop the crushing injuries you can get in an accident?

You may not get much other protection from them but at least that's something.

Altbergs don't BTW :augie

Now I want jeans.......

Right, got the boots - on the way at least - so I guess I should start looking at jeans............

Hood jeans seem to get the nod over Draggin' jeans, tho' I understand they can only be purchased online.

Are these comfy enough - I'd probably omit the armouring - to be worn all day (summer ?) in the office? Is it taking too much of a risk to drop the armour - but I cannot imagine that you could spend all day in this?

I have a pair of Draggin' jeans and the knee armour attaches to the jean via velcro. Quite bulky armour and would imagine not that comfy around the office. I used to wear a pair of HG black jean style trousers when I worked in an office and they were fitted with HG's own protectors which were light, flexible and comfortable (don't see them in latest HG Cataloque) and could be worn all day.
