Recommended lodgings?

Hi all,

Could anyone recommend a good guest house(or similar) for a long weekend touring the highlands the end of April and start or May.

Reasonable prices, good food and biker friendly would be nice...

Depending on how far north you are stopping,the FALLS OF LORA hotel in Connel near Oban would tick all the boxes

If you want to stop on Speyside, you could do much worse than Davaar in Dufftown, run by Andy Cameron, a former GS'er

Ladysmith guest house or Riverside if coming up to Ullapool. Arch Inn if pub required.

Whitebridge Hotel up the east side of Loch Ness, Nice people, good food/beer.

A couple of ideas...

The Lime Tree in Fort William. Restaurant with rooms, rather than guest house but lovely spot, lovely rooms and excellent food.

The Plockton Inn in Plockton. Great pub, decent food, again bike friendly and perfect spot for the ride over the Pass of the Cattle to Applecross.

Cranford or Callater guest houses in Braemar. Both only B&B but nice to stay in and nice restaurant 5 minutes away - The Gathering Place.

I really like Plockton and stopped in this place in September:

They only have three rooms and two tend to be block booked by Rabbies Tours, which leaves the nice big room overlooking the harbour where we stopped (see photo for the view from the room)

I've also stopped at the Plockton Inn, which is also nice but much more expensive. It's a good place to eat though and we had a great night in the bar which had a local folk group playing

The Plockton Hotel also does food and is on the prom, but I didn't like it as much as the inn.
