Sad news cam my way last night. Redpadraig - who posts here occasionally - passed away suddenly yesterday.
While I did not know him very well our paths crossed gloriously in Wesport some years ago.
We were both on solo bike trips & staying in adjacent establishments - I enjoyed his company over a bite & a few pints. He was one of the myriad of folk who did the Photo Rally but did not enter & that's what had him on the road. His son Yosarian also posts here - my sympathies to him & the extended family. Pat did make me smile that night - he was a good man to meet on the road - a road that has ended for him suddenly & unexpectedly. RIP.

A lovely man and a great rider, I met him on Magnum's Alps tour in 09 my condolences to Mary and his family R.I.P.

I never met him, but always sad to hear of another Tosser/biker passing away.

My condolences to his Kith and Kin.

I seem to have arrived at a time in my life when the deaths around me seem very relevant, be they famous people or not so famous.
I think the message they would send to us is "Live your life".. no second chances, no retakes...

Sincerest condolences to friends and family of Redpadraig

I'm stunned.

One of the nicest gents I've ever met from this site. Followed, no tried to follow him through the Alps on his fully laiden bike.

Yosarian, my thoughts are with you and your family.

I was speaking to Padraig on here about some kit a few months back and Betty S mentioned he an absolute was Gent

RIP

Thoughts and condolences Yosarian, with you and your family

I'm stunned and so very sad to learn here of Pat's passing.

A big man, in stature and in personality. A friendly man, a kind man and a generous man. We enjoyed immensely meeting both him and Anne on UKGSer do's, their company and craic was always great to have and his will be sorely missed.

To Anne and Ruairi and the extended family our deepest and most sincere condolences.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Anne and Rory would like to ask all who are attending the funeral to do so on their bikes, if possible, and to meet at their home at 10:30am on Friday morning to escort Patrick on his final journey to Glasnevin at 10:45am, as we all know Patrick loved his bikes.
