I bought this 02 GSA non ABS 42k on the clock last year as a bit of a project to do up as it was very tatty and feeling sorry for itself.

After a few months of tinkering on my days off and i finally got it started today. Tried it yesterday and it started first time, but the revs shot up and stayed at to 6-7k. Spent some time today playing with the cable junction box and have got to the stage where it will actually tick over. Unfortunately at 1700revs, but it least it ticks over on it's own. Not sure where to start on this to get the revs down as i cant get anymore slack out of the cables and the bodies are on the stops. TPS? But either way it is due a flipping good service.

Bits done so far are

Stripped and powder coated the rear frame, front telever, main stand, side stand and bash plate.
Engine and cylinders resprayed
Front forks and fork bridge stripped and resprayed black
New fork oil and seals etc
Got hold of a new tank and beak in black.
Replaced the left hand throttle body.
New battery cage

Just a few jobs left to do now and the final few bits can go on it, oh and tell the DVLA that i have changed the colour.

Looks good eh

What did you do to the exhaust?

I still have the minging exhaust that came off it and had another one which i spent some time with a selection of pastes and buffing wheels. Is not perfect, but better than before.

Don't have any other pics of the process that i have been through. This pic is the first one i have taken and that was only done today. Unfortunately my rented garage is in another town, so not that easy to get to.

Looks good in black.... do you mean the brass screws are fully seated?

Meant the throttle cable adjuster with locking nut are all the way down and that has the throttles onto the stops.

Not done anything else yet as not really touched any of the throttle body end of thing's before.

Have got the tps pdf on how to check it with the voltmeter.
Checked the brass screws and they are both approx 3/4 of a turn from all the way in.
Don't have access to a carb tune either unfortunately

But that is it. Can't do anything else for now as at work for the next 5days.
