Nice one, thanks Todd! I'll try to get there early so that I can have some breakast - hope they're open at 08:00! (On second thoughts, I may just swing by Rykas on the way, safer bet)

Look out for a manky green Discovery with 3-bike trailer chained to the back.

Sorry that I couldn't make it, my dear 87 year old Dad had a funny turn yesterday :( so I had to see if he's OK. Didn't have access to Internet so couldn't post late last night. :blast

All's well thankfully, next time I hope to make it. :comfort

Surrey /hants lanes part 2

Sorry you couldnt make it today Roy and glad the old man is well. A good day was had by all, well the 4 of us who turned up! Todd led and did a stirling job.
We had a bit of everything, drizzle, rain, sleet, snow, and at one point i even think the sum came out!
Got an expert lesson on mending a puncture at the roadside by Todd after Daves rear tyre went a bit soft. I only managed to off once - Thanks for picking me up Mark.

Great day was had.....just need to sort oy some bar risers now and i may be able to stand up a bit longer!

See you all on the March event!

Richie

Thanks Tod for an excellent route and thanks to Mark for the puncture repair kit, Richie for getting the tea in and Tod you a puncture repair demo. On the next trip out I will be fully equipped with tools, pump and puncture repair kit!
Tod I spotted the broken trailer as I went by, I hope you didn’t have to wait to long for the AA.

Rang the AA, they said it will be a 3hr wait, so i said dont bother, lashed the broken bits together...

Made it til about 2miles from home where it all came apart and then just dragged it broken done the road! bet there are a few deep gouges on the a272 now:augie

Was good run nice to ride with you all, just hope the next one is a bit warmer and dryier!

You might want to check but according to the Surrey County Council Website (List of byways) there is a TRO over much of Stane Street which you road last Sunday.

According to the Rights of way officer its applicable to 3 wheel and 4 wheel vehicles.

Also no signage on the ground prohibiting vehicular passage. Also very recently arrected wooden council byway signs.

So in my book game on..

Its been a while since I had looked at the signs on the end of the byways. :D

What condition are they in? Do able on your own or a bit twitchy???
