I like the sound of the Hilltop motorcycles remapping.....but as I live within spitting distance of the Channel Tunnel, somewhere in the south east would be a bonus.

Does anyone know of a remapping service that is up to the standards Hilltop seem to set but in southern England?

Hilltop is in Southern England, not far from Leicester, its not like you need to ride to Katmandu to get it done. A couple of hours riding should suffice (3 in my case). Treat is an an adventure if you like.

It's worth making the journey. :thumb

You'll want the longer journey on the way back as you'll find the improvements addictive.....

I realise it's probably worth the effort, but I've spent so much time on the M25 I now do my level best to avoid it as far as possible.

If it was two hours away at the end of a great ride it would be a no brainer............but the thought of the thick end of 400 miles on the M20, M25and M1 almost cancels the desire to get the job done, hence the question.......but if it's worth it I guess it's worth it.

Given the rideability results that remaps seem to achieve though, I'm amazed no one else does it....

Mate, you're not giving us GS riders a good reputation :D

Plenty of ways to have a great ride up there.

Well worth going to Hilltop.

Geoff at Hilltop has invested a lot of money and effort into getting this map done and I guess has done quite well in timing the availability with GS owners to make some money out of it. Anyone else would have to consider if there's enough share of the market to warrant that level of investment. The Boxer engine also seems to respond extremely well to the remap hence the significant improvements in torque, power and useability some of us have experienced after the remap.

That is the crucial point........... looks like a trip to Leicester then.

IIRC you can send him your ECU and he can map it, then return it to you. Obviously it won't be quite as good/comprehensive as him actually having the bike, but it's a possibility.

Why send the ecu and get half a job done. Sure, it will be improved like a new suit but not optimised to your bike like a bespoke suit.

You want Saville row, not top shop.

Stop fucking about and make the trip.

I mean sending in the ecu is only doing half the job, it's the rolling road tune that counts most, and the dyno can't come to you. It's worth making the trip up to Leicester to get it done properly, nobody else does the same ecu mapping/tuning as its Hilltops trade secret.

At the moment a very late 750B.......had this one 24 years, but since 1977 probably about fifteen or so in total.....one of which (a really original J model) I still regret selling.

I've got a 1977 A model in the shed. It needs a front end rebuild and some cosmetic work but is in pretty good nick. It has a set genuine 1970s Allspeeds which sound stunning.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING sounds like a GT running Allspeeds. :D

Ive also got some tatty standard pipes to get cleaned up & chromed etc for making it more original but I suspect they will stay in the shed until (if ever) its sold.
