Remove lock cylinder from 1300 vario top box?

Has anyone done this? I've tried the L shaped wire with no luck but if this is the correct way I'll make a proper, and stiffer tool.

I have, you need to remove the little rubber plug inside the box which is inline with the lock, then use a small screw driver to push down the metal sliver. Trickiest bit is getting the rubber bung back in
