OK then, what's the secret????

I need to recode the barrels on me panniers, but can't figure out how to get them out! :blast

No idea mate... I could recode them but no idea as to how to get them out other then you need to push a little button type thing with a small screwdriver! maybe... :blast

open the lock up and there should be a small shiny bit visible on the lock barrel. this is the locking leaf.

with the with the key in, use a probe to depress it and pull on the key, and the whole barrel should come out.

Thats it! :D

The lock is held in place by the spring loaded tab furthest away from the key hole you need to slide a piece of metal round the end of the lock to push the tab in then the lock will slide out.

Its the tab that is stuck out

aha, managed it. The locking leaf is on the underside and is only accessible to push in from one side!!! Now where do I buy the leaves from???

they are cheap from bmw, or there's usually someone on here that has loads left over from a lock change.

Check first - you may be able to juggle them around, there's only three different ones. I managed to get the panniers I just bought first to work with a spare key with no new leaves, but when I looked further at the leaves (?) I found I could get them same as ignition with addition of an extra pair of '2' which I happened to have from something else.
