I'm going to be replacing both shocks on my 1150GSA and was wondering what happens to the bike when both are removed at the same time. I'll need to park it up for a few days with no shocks - will I need to put in some sort of temporary bracing?

Use a hydraulic bike lift under the sump plate. I did mine last week:thumb

Or a hoist from a roof beam, pull the front up until both wheels are of the ground whilst using centre stand.

no need for that. Put a strong ratchet stap through the front wheel and the centre stand a pull it tight (this is important) it will stop the bike rolling off its centre stand and falling on you at the most inoppotune moment.

Then remove the front shock, slowly lean it forward till it settles. then remove the back.

Assy. is the reverse of the above.

if you wanted you could chock the front with a block on wood to replace the front shock but itll be fine if you cant be bothered

oops!

damnit!
cant help -
mis read the thread title :blast
