900miles on my gs1200 now and the only issue i have is the buffeting & noise from the screen. I have fitted Tobinators with a NN clock cover but without success. I am 6' 4" and usually carry a passenger who also complains about the buffeting & noise.

Has anyone tried removing the screen altogeter?

:)

I often remove my screen when it gets hot hot. Nice cooling breeze. I find having the screen on the lowest setting is the best to reduce buffetting.

I will try it without the screen tonight and post the results of how it goes.

Yours hopefull:)

I took a jigsaw to my screen and cut off 4" the top. Buffeting is gone.. Clean wind flow around my helmet and the upper portion of my torso, and more bugs on my helmet shield. Much better than stock..

Or you could buy a super large after market screen which is at least 6" taller than stock. I got the Givi screen for the 12GS and it works very well, but there's no more wind in my face.. which can be a drag on hot days.

I tried the bike without the screen and it was better but it looks unfinished. So i spent last night making some brakets to raise the rear of the screen. The aim is to use them in conjunction with the tobinators to lift the screen up vertically. I have raised it approx 65mm. I will test it tonight to see if it works.

I it does i will post a photo if i can find out how to load them.

Some easy working and you get a screen the dooes not disturb your sight on the bike, and who does not disturb the airflow around your helmet. I used som very clumpsy wood tools to cut down the screen.

I think that it looks pretty bloody good!

The bike looks finished and I might just have a go myself.

How much are the screens if it all goes pearshaped?

That does look very good indeed. How and what did you use to cut it down. Could a completely ham-fisted baffoon do it? :D

I am 6'5" and have fitted tobinators and a Secdem screen.
Excellent result, with little wind noise and zero buffeting.

Love the pink vest, is that a fashion statement ???

YES!!

We are haveing security training at a local gocart court.
Learning to be a MC driver not a MC passanger.

If you come to Rörken in Uppsala Sweden, monday 18.00 - 21.00 you can use this vest after the theory lesson and then enjoy the gocart court.

Cee Baileys makes a good after market screen. You can get a 6" higher and 4" wider. I'm 5' 10" and purchased the 4" taller and 2" wider and works very good.

Look at that rear tyre compressing!!!

It was a pressure of 2 Kg in the rear tyre, and it should be around 2.5 Kg for road use.

I thing that it is the knobs that deforms the wheel more than what a street tyre should do.
