Thanks for the replies - some good ideas to try :thumb2

I did have a quick go with WD40 last night, which didn't seem to work, but I might have been a bit of a wuss with it and didn't give it enough time (visions of screen melting before my eyes....). I'll assemble a selection of your recommended stuff and have a another go this evening. If nothing else, the rest of the screen will be flippin' clean

Maybe try some of the wifes nail varnish remover aka Acetone.. ( but beware the plastic, try in a non important area first!)

Tar and glue remover...

I.P.A... no not the beer but Isopropyal Alcohol

Petrol.. again watch the screen plastics

Sticky stuff.

Blow lamp will shift anything!"

Blow lamp will shift anything!"

I'm sure it would!

In one of the labs at work there's a several megawatt, pulsed CO2 laser - I'm sure that would work too (it'd probably turn the screen into atoms though....) :D

Result!
The first thing I tried this evening was white spirit. Soaked a bit of rag and held it against the sticker residue for 10 seconds or so and then a gentle bit of rubbing and the gunk dissolved. Afterwards I washed the screen with some soapy water as a precaution, but the white spirit didn't seem to touch the plastic.

Thanks for the advice :thumb
