Renewal Quote

please can you elaborate as I am not sure whether to be outraged or pleased on your behalf

how does it compare to the overall market as renewal prices are not renowned for being competitive as my recent post in the Aviva thread exemplified

Sorry Wessie I’m with Bennett’s and just had my renewal quote, I’m 68 full no claims and just wanted to vent my anger.
I’m paying more for the bike than I pay for my car in fact twice as much.

Have you tried shopping around? It may yet prove to be cheap… or expensive…. Your own efforts (and not those of others) will be your saviour…… or downfall.

I saved nearly 50% by shopping around as Aviva were not competitive for renewal. £356 became around £180 by using the Topcashback Compare website. Use my referral code for a bonus https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/wessie

Carole Nash renewal (Aviva) came through at £20 cheaper than last year.
Did comparison and nothing cheaper.
£213 for 1250RT

Other years (especially with Bennetts has been £100's more.

Knocked it down to £374 but with a bog excess bit can get it for £474 with a lower excess.
Either way good saving on renewal with Bennett’s

Bennett's were taken over little while ago I'm told, they are now in my opinion rip offs. Plus you're paying for the their Bike Social and discounts, which aren't really discounts as they everything can be bought through other retailers for less. The Bike Social forum is heavily mediated bye the gang who work for them (John Milbank & Michael Mann etc) if you say and then question anything they respond with about premiums it's deleted!

CN have gone the same way. I was with CN for something like 25yrs about 5 yrs ago they doubled yes doubled my premium and wouldn't budge, so I walked. Went with Bennett's until this year as they've effectively done the same not quite double but a big hike. Now with Hastings for just over £200 cheaper then Bennett's quote for slightly more cover and at the rate I first paid when going to Bennett's 5yrs ago!

Nothing can be a rip off if it's a choice.

@Swansea Jack
Don't want to rub it in, but i will 🤣

i paid £270 for insurance on my GS this year.
Interestingly that's £570 cheaper than you did!

So to celebrate a bought a fancy coffee machine with the difference
I will think of you while drinking my next frothy cappuccino 😁

Haters gonna hate 🥄

I know there are many vaiables but 2nd time of insuring the 1300GS was a pleasant suprise this month.......£205 ..... down from £347 last April

I've just done another quote after learning my panniers are not covered by Bennets (due to the value of their replacement parts). Hastings Premier is £830, about £300 less then I have already paid through Bennets. Need to check if Hastings will cover the panniers...
