Got the renewal notice today for the house insurance.

Last year was £440..... This year's renewal cost £791. !!

How on earth they can justify that increase for the same cover I've no idea.

Bit of time spent on a comparison site this morning and for EXACTLY the same cover.. £334. from a well known high street building society.... Think I'll be changing insurance companies.

Buildings insurance renewal time and it’s dropped by £50 this year, to £230 so a pleasant start to the day. That’s with MBNA.
Sadly car insurance looks to have risen by £400, haven’t shopped around yet.

Is 4th Dimension starting to do home repairs on behalf of the insurance industry !!!!!!!!!!!!

Mines not changed much over the years, this year I've paid.....
£490 Car insurance
£270 bike insurance
£360 House insurance
£114 worldwide travel insurance with breakdown cover EU

As usual I had to go through the merry dance of cancelling auto renew and telling them their new price is shit, before using compare the market to get new.

Just had the renewal for our household insurance:
I think I need to look elsewhere. No claims in the last year so why double the premium?

definitely time to sack them off, go hunting and get a cheaper price.

I am that forthright (stubborn/bloody-minded) that even if the original provider matches the next best quote, I will leave them. Sure my meagre protest makes no effect but I feel better...

So will I. You just don’t know how much piss taking they are doing!

I tend to stick to Ecclesiastical or NFU as they have excellent reviews and a high payout record. The big ‘IF’ something goes truly toes-up I don’t want to have a fight to get it sorted, and looking at the quotes above they’re not expensive.

I see Bennets have taken to sending a *warning* email that your bike renewal is imminent.

Presumably so you can be sitting down & topped up with beta blockers to mitigate the shock when you see it.
